What is Bulk Messaging?
Bulk Messaging is a service you can use to send out SMS and MMS messages to your customers or employees. You can create specific groups within this service and keep everything organized within the BOSS.Tech app. Need to blast out a promo, event reminder, or update? No more copy-pasting chaos!

Why are there so many forms that I have to fill out for Bulk Messaging?
We know it’s not fun to fill out forms but unfortunately, The FCC requires this information to verify appropriate use and prevent spam.
Can I send bulk texts with BOSS.Tech?
Yes, you can.
To send bulk texts in BOSS.Tech, you’ll need:
– A BOSS.Talk number. This is the phone number your messages send from.
– BOSS Bucks. Bulk texts use BOSS Bucks based on your usage.
Once your BOSS.Talk number is set up and funded, you can select your recipients and send your message in a few taps.
Can I bulk text from different phone numbers?
Not from multiple numbers within the same company.
Each company in BOSS.Tech gets one BOSS.Talk number, and that’s the number your bulk texts send from.
If you need a different sending number, you’ll need to create a separate company in BOSS.Tech to get a new BOSS.Talk line.
Is there a limit to the number of people I can add to a bulk text?
No, however the recommended limit is 200 maximum messages/day to get started.
How big of a Bulk text can I send?
Our bulk text can be as long as you want. It just may count as multiple SMS messages.
Here’s how it works:
– 1 SMS segment = up to 153 characters
– If your message goes over 153 characters, it’s split into multiple segments.
– Each segment counts as 1 message per recipient, which impacts your BOSS Bucks usage.
Examples:
200 characters to 1 person = 2 messages
400 characters to 10 people = 30 messages (3 segments x 10 recipients)
Tip: If you’re sending to a big list, keep it tight. Every extra segment multiplies fast.
Can I send Emoji’s on my Bulk Texts?
Yes! Messages with emojis have a character limit of 70. Ex. An SMS with emojis and 200 characters = 3 messages.
Can I send images and videos?
You bet! Multimedia Messaging Service(MMS) can be used. 300kB size limit is recommended.
Can I bulk upload contacts?
Not yet, we are considering this feature. You can share a QR code that will allow someone to join your bulk group. Or they can text the keyword to your BOSSTalk number to join your bulk group. You can manually add them one at a time otherwise.
Can I upload my phone contacts to the app?
Not yet… It’s coming! Our team is already working on this.
